Gentle Return of Ivory White and Walnut Wood: A Private Relaxation Haven Tailored for a Career Woman

This project is a witness to the homeowner's journey from the early days of her career to her current stability. She is a career-oriented woman who spends her days navigating work and the city. When she returns home, what she craves most is an extreme sense of visual and tactile relaxation and a feeling of belonging. The design team precisely captured this need, using ivory white and walnut wood as the main tones to create a warm, calm, and highly inclusive foundation. The soft glow of ivory white complements the natural grain of walnut wood, delivering a sense of understated luxury and healing. The space feels visually clean and uncluttered while offering a warm, soothing touch.

Material selection was extremely meticulous, with the homeowner personally involved in the choices. She selected brownish-toned stone (Spanish small porcelain tiles), flooring stone (faux travertine), and vein-cut travertine. These materials blend perfectly with the main color palette, bringing rich layering: the delicate texture of Spanish small porcelain tiles, the natural pores and grain of travertine, and the smooth flow of vein-cut travertine allow light to dance across different surfaces, creating subtle shadows and depth. The entire space integrates 10 different undertones of materials, yet presents them in a clear and unified way, avoiding visual chaos while filling every corner with refined textural variation.

The biggest challenge was achieving an 80% storage utilization rate in a limited space without sacrificing natural light or usable circulation areas. Through precise spatial planning, hidden storage systems, and multifunctional furniture design, the team successfully balanced practicality and aesthetics. Storage cabinets are integrated into the walls, with drawers and shelves cleverly configured to keep the space open and fluid. Whether reading alone, relaxing in the bath, or gathering with family, the homeowner can enjoy freedom and comfort.

The homeowner made clear decisions and collaborated pleasantly, allowing the project to be completed smoothly within the tight timeline. From initial discussions to final handover, both parties maintained efficient and trusting cooperation. Style is subjective and varies from person to person, but the undertone of color remains the eternal soul of any space—this project is the best demonstration of that principle. It not only fulfills the homeowner's need for relaxation but also serves as the perfect support for balancing her career and personal life.
